Printemps: Featuring Duruflé’s Requiem

April 28 @ 7:00 pm8:30 pm

The Mississippi Chorus presents Printemps: Featuring Duruflé’s Requiem, an evening of elegant and expressive French choral music inspired by the beauty of spring.

At the heart of the program is Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, one of the most beloved choral works of the 20th century. Known for its serene and transcendent character, the Requiem weaves together Gregorian chant and rich, impressionistic harmonies to create a deeply moving musical experience.

The program also includes Duruflé’s Four Motets, a set of intimate and luminous works that highlight the clarity and warmth of the human voice.

Guest artists for this performance include:
Annalee Crawford, Mezzo Soprano
Christopher Hart, Baritone
Geoff Stemen, Organist

Together, these works reflect themes of peace, reflection, and renewal—capturing the essence of printemps, the French word for spring.
